Steve Surjik

Steve Surjik directed the two hour movie and eight episodes in total of Intelligence. His debut film Second Story Man was screened at the prestigious Director's Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival, while he was still a student at Concordia University in Montreal. After attending the Canadian Film Centre where he wrote and directed Dead Easy, he became a full time director for the irreverent Kids in the Hall.
Some of Surjik's subsequent series credits include Road to Avonlea, Due South, Da Vinci's Inquest and The X-Files. His feature debut was made in Hollywood directing Wayne's World 2. After completing this hit sequel, Surjik returned to Canada to direct Little Criminals. The emotional and cinematic impact of Little Criminals won him international attention including the grand prize at the Geneva Film Festival, Cinema Tout Ecran.
Working with writer/producer Larry Gelbart (M.A.S.H.), Surjik helmed the political satire Weapons of Mass Distraction which included cast members Ben Kingsley and Gabriel Byrne and was nominated for several Emmy Awards. Steve has worked with Chris Haddock on many Da Vinci's Inquests and other projects.
